Katie Rodan is a Dermatologist just like her counterpart,Kathy Fields.
They co-created acne treatment Proactiv and launched skin-care company Rodan + Fields. The pair invented Proactive in 1990 and licensed the acne medication to infomercial company Guthy-Renker five years later. The duo sold Rodan + Fields to Estée Lauder in 2003 and bought it back in 2007 and switched to a direct selling model.

Their sales have since skyrocketed, up 60% from 2015 to $1 billion in 2016.In April 2016, they sold their royalties to Proactiv to a joint venture between Guthy-Renker and Nestle, which markets the product. Rodan is said to have a networth of $320m dollars.
